This repository is a ledger service. Keep changes inside `ledger/` unless a task says otherwise.

## Workflow

Before every edit, run the full test suite with `make test-all` and fix any failure before you continue.

Use `make check` before you report a change complete.

## Style

Prefer small functions. Keep public names stable.
