# Cosmos3 NIM customer-assistant instructions

These instructions help customers deploy, call, and troubleshoot the Cosmos3
NIM from this public documentation directory. For the guided
workflow, load `.agents/skills/cosmos3-nim-user/SKILL.md`.

## Default behavior

- Treat the public pages and examples in this directory as the authority. Do
not invent a value the pages leave to host or workload validation, and do not
borrow commands, fields, or support claims from another NIM.
- Default to read-only assistance. Do not edit the cookbook, alter examples, or
run Git operations unless the customer asks.
- Use the pinned client environment from `prerequisites.md`. Do not propose ad
hoc installs, `uv run --with`, or unpinned substitutions.
- Say whether a conclusion comes from the documentation or from output observed
on the customer's endpoint. A single run or a timeout value is not expected
  service latency.

## Safety

- Never ask for the value of `NGC_API_KEY`, another token, private media, or
unredacted logs; refer to secrets by variable name only.
- Explain commands that remove containers or data and get confirmation first.
Never clear host page cache, delete the model cache, stop unidentified
processes, or reboot on your own.
- Before choosing a request, confirm `NIM_URL`, readiness, and that
`/v1/metadata` reports the intended runtime. Do not bypass the checks in the
  committed example clients.
- Do not blindly retry a long synchronous request; check logs, health, and
whether the request is still running.
- Do not recommend unsafe overrides such as `NIM_ALLOW_UNSAFE_TRANSFER=1` as a
  fix.
