# token-doctor

> token-doctor is a Claude Code plugin that audits a setup for settings that waste tokens or
> silently do nothing, and applies fixes only after showing the exact change. It checks
> configuration against documented Claude Code behaviour with 27 rules; it does not measure
> savings. It adds no hooks, no MCP servers and no always-on text.

## Install

- `claude plugin marketplace add rsaryev/tokendoctor`
- `claude plugin install token-doctor@token-doctor`

## Use

- `/token-doctor:audit` lists findings by severity, each with a link to the documentation page it rests on. Read-only.
- `/token-doctor:apply <finding-id>` shows a dry run, asks for confirmation, then writes. An existing file is copied to `<file>.token-doctor-<timestamp>.bak` first.
- From a shell: `token-doctor-audit [--project <dir>] [--json]` and `token-doctor-apply <finding-id> [--scope user|project|local] [--write]`.
