Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Contributing to c-review Design rationale and the rules that hold the pipeline together. Every load-bearing rule here came from a measured failure — undoing one regresses the plugin. Read this before changing a prompt, a gate rule or how agents are dispatched. User-facing docs are [README.md](README.md) (what it does) and [skills/c-review/SKILL.md](skills/c-review/SKILL.md) (what the model executes). Keep both free of design rationale; it belongs here. ## Why location, not bug class **This plugin used to be class-partitioned** — one agent per bug class — and the measurement that killed that design was blunt: an *undirected* fan-out of generic agents over contiguous line ranges matched the class-partitioned pipeline on recall at **~40% of its cost**, twice, on both corpora. Class-per-agent was paying 2.5× for nothing. So location does the dividing now, and the reason to prefer it over an undirected region split is **not** recall or cost — a region fan-out is comparable on the first and cheaper on the second. It is that the partition is generated from a parse at function granularity, and that a gate afterwards checks the reading actually happened. A region fan-out assigns …

How to install
mdr add trailofbits/skills/plugins/c-review/AGENTS.md@sha256:92e9e1d8765494b6The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260824.311a784, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
