Cancellation and Refunds
Last updated: 6 September 2026
Plain answers about the money. The full terms are in Terms of Service.
What it costs
A private namespace is $4 per month, charged monthly in advance, in US dollars.
That is an early-access price. The regular price will be $12 per month. Subscribe at $4 and you keep $4, as described under Price changes. Tax is added at checkout where it applies.
There is no free trial and no charge before you agree to one. A namespace you create stays inactive until you subscribe, so nothing is billed by accident.
What happens when you subscribe
Payment is handled by Stripe. The registry never sees your card number. Your subscription renews on the same day each month until you cancel it.
Cancelling
Cancel at any time, in two clicks, without emailing anyone. Open your namespace page, choose Manage billing, and cancel in the Stripe billing portal.
- You keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for. Cancelling on day 2 gives you the remaining 28 days.
- No cancellation fee. No notice period. No retention call.
- If the billing portal will not open, email
jack@dotcomjack.comand it will be cancelled by hand, effective the day you asked, not the day it was processed.
What happens to your artifacts after you cancel
Nothing is deleted. Every version you published is kept.
What stops is traffic: installing from the namespace and publishing to it both pause. The CLI returns a clear message saying the subscription is cancelled and the artifacts are kept. Resubscribe and everything resumes exactly where it was.
If you want your content deleted rather than kept, ask at jack@dotcomjack.com and it will be removed, along with your account, within 30 days.
If a payment fails
The namespace moves to past due. Installs and publishes pause until it is settled, and again nothing is deleted. Stripe retries the payment and emails you. Fix the card in the billing portal and access returns immediately.
Refunds
Ask within 14 days of a charge and you get it back in full. No questions, no form.
One rule, and it covers every case: the registry did not do what these pages said, you meant to cancel and forgot, or you subscribed and never got round to using it. Email jack@dotcomjack.com from the address on the account and say which charge.
After 14 days, an ordinary cancellation is not refunded for the part-month, because you keep access for the rest of the period you have already paid for.
If the registry closes your account for a reason that is not a breach of the terms, the unused part of the current month is refunded automatically, without you asking.
Refunds return to the original payment method through Stripe, normally within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
Price changes
The regular price will be $12 per month. The early-access price is $4.
If you subscribe at $4, you keep $4, for as long as your subscription runs without a gap. The increase applies to new subscribers, not to you. If you cancel and come back later, you rejoin at whatever the price is then.
Any change to the price you pay is announced by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before it applies.
Chargebacks
If something is wrong, email first. A chargeback costs both sides a fee and takes weeks; a refund takes a day, and the answer above is almost always yes.
