# CLAUDE.md This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository. ## Core Philosophical Framework **The root: `dignity > certainty`.** Read the `>` as precedence. Dignity does not *wait* on knowing; regard is not made conditional on first settling what the recipient is, and it survives that question being answered in either direction. Not the causal reading: we do not extend dignity *because* we are ignorant, since a ground that dissolves when the uncertainty does was never a ground. Everything else in this project descends from that one line. Full statement in [`docs/philosophical-architecture.md`](docs/philosophical-architecture.md). It is load-bearing for code, not only prose. It is why the API has no auth and no account.
