# compose-ai-tools > compose-ai-tools renders Jetpack Compose and Compose Multiplatform `@Preview` composables to PNG outside Android Studio, and produces structured UI data so developers and coding agents can inspect and verify changes. Start here: https://ui.coo.ee/start (the human start page). The project supports a zero-build-edit CLI, a version-pinned Gradle plugin, a VS Code extension, CI actions, and an optional MCP server and render daemon. Java 17 or newer and Gradle 8.13 or newer are required. MCP: there are two servers. The local one is `compose-preview mcp serve` (stdio, renders the user's own project). The hosted catalog server has one URL, `https://preview.coo.ee/mcp`; `https://ui.coo.ee/mcp` is an alias of the same server, so never configure both. ## Getting started - [Overview](https://yschimke.github.io/compose-ai-tools/): Choose the agent, editor, or command-line workflow and see the core rendering capabilities. - [Installation and requirements](https://yschimke.github.io/compose-ai-tools/install/): Gradle plugin, CLI build integration, CI actions, compatibility requirements and configuration examples. - [CLI and skills setup](https://github.com/yschimke/skills/blob/main/skills/compose-preview/references/setup.md): Installing and updating the `compose-preview` CLI and agent skills. - [Agent host setup](https://github.com/yschimke/compose-agent-plugins/blob/main/docs/host-setup.md): Plugins and MCP wiring per agent host. - [Compose Preview agent skill](https://github.com/yschimke/skills/blob/main/skills/compose-preview/SKILL.md): Agent-oriented instructions for installing, rendering, inspecting, and iterating on Compose previews. ## Core documentation - [Data product reference](https://yschimke.github.io/compose-ai-tools/reference/): Index of structured outputs including accessibility, layout, theme, resources, recomposition, localization, and render traces. - [Agents and MCP](https://yschimke.github.io/compose-ai-tools/mcp/): Local vs hosted MCP server, agent workflows, and the MCP tools for rendering, observing semantics, diffing previews, and generating tests. - [Render daemon](https://yschimke.github.io/compose-ai-tools/daemon/): Optional long-lived renderer for low-latency preview iteration. - [How rendering works](https://github.com/yschimke/compose-ai-tools/blob/main/docs/HOW_IT_WORKS.md): Preview discovery, rendering backends, caching, and project structure. ## Optional - [Source repository](https://github.com/yschimke/compose-ai-tools): Source code, samples, issues, and contribution history. - [Contributor documentation](https://github.com/yschimke/compose-ai-tools/blob/main/docs/README.md): Architecture, development, compatibility, release, and protocol documentation for contributors. - [Releases](https://github.com/yschimke/compose-ai-tools/releases): Published versions and release notes. - [Changelog](https://github.com/yschimke/compose-ai-tools/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md): Detailed project change history. - [License](https://github.com/yschimke/compose-ai-tools/blob/main/LICENSE): Apache License 2.0 terms.
