Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Brigade, for an agent that reads no imports `CLAUDE.md` is this repository's agent root and loads its rule files through `@` imports. A harness that reads `AGENTS.md` instead reads the same files here, in the same order, before changing anything: 1. [Conventions: git, commits, cards, plans](docs/agent/repository/conventions.md) 2. [Invariants: protocol, output, secrets, configuration, dependencies](docs/agent/repository/invariants.md) 3. [Gates: what runs before a push, and what a release needs](docs/agent/repository/gates.md) 4. [Documentation: where a page goes, and the gate that holds it](docs/agent/repository/documentation.md) 5. [Automation: the release-notes email, the agentic loop, pinned actions](docs/agent/repository/automation.md) The agent persona's page, [docs/agent/README.md](docs/agent/README.md), says what an agent does inside a Brigade team and what it does on this repository. Humans start at [README.md](README.md).

How to install
mdr add appshapes/brigade/AGENTS.md@sha256:ab9ac11b8d39c51bThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261017.a9fa483, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
