# qa-skills

> A QA engineering skill framework for AI coding agents: 12 testing skills plus the required shared `core/` knowledge base. MIT licensed. Covers requirement clarification, evidence-backed test strategy, executable cases, reviews, Web E2E / API execution, exploration, bug analysis, regression scoping, flaky-test governance and project QA knowledge. Ships instructions and helper scripts; the host provides the model and execution tools.

## Install and verify

Requires Node.js / npm for npx. Choose the host and scope in the installer. Always include `core/`; single-skill installation without it breaks relative references. Keep skill directories and core as siblings. Only the repository's install.sh writes qa-skills.VERSION; other methods do not require that marker. After installation, refresh the host's skills or start a new session and check which skill and core files were actually loaded.

## Use

Ask: "Test this requirement: {description + repository or local path}." Supply a regression baseline and, before execution, the test environment and account configuration. Use qa for the full pipeline, or a stage skill for a focused task. Stage outputs are saved to files for resumption. Clarification, execution strategy, bug classification and budget decisions have human checkpoints.

## Language, compatibility and evidence

README and website: Chinese and English. Skill instruction bodies: Chinese. Descriptions: bilingual for 11 of 12 skills; bug-analysis remains Chinese to avoid an observed routing regression. Installation compatibility, correct triggering and output quality are separate checks. Installation records exist for Claude Code, dsh and Codex; gains are not established for every host or model. Playwright, pytest, k6 and the application under test are not bundled.

The README reports historical injected On/Off experiments, not a new evaluation of the current checkout. Its historical table draws on an early 12-task evaluation and later execution-specific checks, including case-spec compliance 0.26 / 0.98 and token cost 1x / 3.3x (without / with skills); separate rounds use different samples. These are not per-install guarantees. Version-specific gain matrices are provided with milestone Releases; individual examples do not establish statistical gains. The harness, task pool and raw data are maintained locally and not distributed.
