# Repository guidance ## Branches and releases - Create feature branches from `main`, using `<type>/<short-description>`. - Target `main` for PRs and use a merge commit with the PR title as its subject. The repository permits merge commits for PRs. - `main` is the default branch and the only branch you work on. Each merge into `main` runs the release workflow, which publishes a stable release when a commit calls for a version bump. - `claude-directory` is generated. On each release, the workflow rebuilds it from `plugins/concise` with `scripts/directory-tree.mjs`, and Anthropic's directory reads it. Never edit, branch from, or merge it. Read [.agents/docs/claude-directory.md](.agents/docs/claude-directory.md) before you change what the tree holds. - Release automation owns version files, release notes, and tags. Do not edit versions or create release tags manually. - The release workflow publishes `@yannelli/be-concise` to npm through trusted publishing. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
