Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# CLAUDE.md This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository. ## Project Overview Knowhow (formerly skillz; repo renamed from `jkitchin/skillz`) is a CLI tool for managing AI assistant skills and slash commands across multiple LLM platforms (Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, Gemini, Cursor, Copilot). Its headline feature is `uvx knowhow add owner/repo --skill name`: install skills (npx-skills compatible), commands, subagents, hooks and MCP servers from any git repo without installing knowhow or cloning anything. The repo also hosts a collection of skills, commands, hooks and agents, plus commands to create, validate and evolve them. ## Development Commands ### Setup ```bash # Install with development dependencies (preferred) uv pip install -e ".[dev]" # Alternative with pip pip install -e ".[dev]" ``` ### Testing ```bash # Run all tests pytest # Run with coverage report pytest --cov=knowhow --cov-report=html # Run specific test file pytest tests/test_validator.py ``` ### Linting and Formatting ```bash # Check code style ruff check . ruff format --check . # Format code ruff format . ``` ### Running the CLI ```bash …

How to install
mdr add jkitchin/knowhow/CLAUDE.md@sha256:7185506461e06a45The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261026.5e9a3fa, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
