## Last-checked: 2026-08-22 # ellmos-ai/skills - Portable Skill Library for LLM Agents > Standalone, portable library of AI skills in the Anthropic-compatible `SKILL.md` format. The project is part of the ellmos ecosystem and provides reusable workflow definitions for Claude Code-style agents, Codex-compatible setups, BACH, AGY/Gemini, and other local-first LLM agent runtimes. Tested with 156 passing pytest tests (100% green). Canonical repository: https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills Default branch: master License: MIT Author: Lukas Geiger ## What this repository contains - 132 public runtime skills organized into 10 categories (376 tracked skills total). - The public registry is a minimal discovery index. Internal ownership, privacy, review, and maintainer fields are kept in a separate No-Push repository. - A `SKILL.md` schema with YAML frontmatter for provenance, compatibility, dependencies, and usage. - A machine-readable catalog index (`registry/components.json`) listing every skill with category, version, description, and supported languages. - Multilingual documentation across 6 languages (DE, EN, ES, JA, RU, ZH) for humans plus this compact file for crawlers and LLM agents. ## Key files - [README.md](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/blob/master/README.md): English landing page, start-here table, catalog snapshot, search context. - [README_de.md](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/blob/master/README_de.md): German landing page with the same public user guidance. - [SECURITY.md](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/blob/master/SECURITY.md): Bilingual security policy, Zero-Egress guarantees, and privacy boundary enforcement. - [docs/CONVENTIONS.md](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/blob/master/docs/CONVENTIONS.md): `SKILL.md` frontmatter specification. - [registry/components.json](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/blob/master/registry/components.json): Machine-readable catalog index (category, version, provenance per skill). - [skills/](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/tree/master/skills): Public skill catalog. - [agents-bridge](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/tree/master/skills/infrastructure/agents-bridge): Portable v3 file contract for provider boot surfaces, truth pointers, separate memory silos, messaging, presence, cooperative locks, privacy-gated capture, verified restore, and rollback. - [.github/workflows/tests.yml](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/blob/master/.github/workflows/tests.yml): Multi-OS and Python matrix CI workflow. - [CHANGELOG.md](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md): Public project history and discovery metadata changes. - [LICENSE](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/skills/blob/master/LICENSE): MIT license. ## Public skill categories - `assist`: 20 user-neutral assistance methods for office work, notes, household planning, contacts, health-information organization, media and inventory exports, voice workflows, travel, weather, calendars, and transcription. - `dev`: 24 development protocols covering debugging, bug sweeps, pipeline renovation, migration, documentation, plugin systems, and repository publication. - `education`: 5 skills for academic study, worksheets, and user-neutral teaching and support planning. - `game-dev`: 5 skills for Blender, Roblox, Rojo, Studio, asset safety, and game-design workflows. - `infrastructure`: 30 skills for portable AI setup, system onboarding, automation self-care, semantic persona routing, skill landscape management, and provider-neutral config sync. - `production`: 1 text production router (general texts, narrative stories, PR with local LaTeX press-release compiler). - `research`: 1 research-agent workflow support. - `therapy`: 20 German-language psychoeducation and counseling method playbooks. - `utilities`: 25 batch, document, reasoning, media, and first-look utility workflows. - `web`: 1 web-reading protocol support. ## Audience - Developers building reusable `SKILL.md` workflows for Claude Code-style, Codex-compatible, or AGY agents. - Local-first AI operators who want portable skills without a hosted marketplace or central registry. - BACH and ellmos users who need skill provenance, category metadata, and sync-state conventions. - Researchers and document workers looking for reusable process, research, and utility playbooks. - German-speaking counseling or psychoeducation contexts that need structured method skills with real German umlauts. ## Search Phrases ``` ellmos skills ellmos-ai/skills agent skill library SKILL.md catalog portable AI skills Claude Code SKILL.md library Codex skills library Claude Code and Codex skills local-first LLM agent skills BACH skill catalog Anthropic-compatible skills portable skills for LLM agents ``` This repository is not an MCP server by itself. It is not a hosted SaaS marketplace, prompt pack, or private installer. It is a skill catalog that can be used by MCP-enabled, CLI-based, or local-first agent runtimes that understand `SKILL.md` workflows. ## Public/private boundary Public skill folders contain only portable methods and neutral assets. App- or host-specific adapters, accounts, databases, local paths, real user data, and personal defaults belong in separate private profiles or forks. `foerderplaner` covers teaching and support planning only; general report generation lives in the separate public `ellmos-ai/report-forge` project, while personal support-report templates remain private. ## Related Ecosystem & Sibling Projects - [BACH](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/bach) - Full text-based LLM operating system - [ellmos-core](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/ellmos-core) - Core runtime primitives and execution fabric - [ellmos-controlcenter-mcp](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/ellmos-controlcenter-mcp) - Unified tool and profile gateway MCP server - [system-explorer](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/system-explorer) - Agent fleet composition and system exploration - [workflowhooker](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/workflowhooker) - Transactional workflow hook dispatcher - [sqlite-transit-sync](https://github.com/ellmos-ai/sqlite-transit-sync) - Offline-first transit sync and snapshot retention - [DevCenter](https://github.com/dev-bricks/DevCenter) - Desktop developer workstation suite - [CodeBox](https://github.com/dev-bricks/CodeBox) - Multi-language code editor and sandbox environment - [open-bricks](https://github.com/open-bricks) - Umbrella open-source software project organization
