## Multi-Agent Systems & Agent Harnesses

SIS is engineered to enable the orchestration of specialized, autonomous LLM swarms. By sharing a unified memory substrate and decoupling skills from application code, developers can coordinate multi-agent fleets across different tasks.

### 1. What Makes SIS Unique

* **Shared Cognitive Architecture**: Rather than hardcoding distinct personality specs or memory configurations into each individual agent, agents share the same flat, queryable memory vaults and active skill registries.

* **Sovereign Substrate (SIP)**: Verifiable attestation footer (`Built on SIP`), cryptographic-friendly credentials scans, and multi-fleet alliance coordination.

* **Event-Sourced SQLite Hybrid indexing**: Allows memory sync across P2P networks (like Syncthing) using append-only JSONL files indexed locally in SQLite with full-text search.

### 2. The Swarm Harness Process

1. **Define Swarm Personalities**: Author markdown profiles in `agents/starlight-*.md` outlining an agent's Tier, Scope, Invariants, and Voice. Register them under the flat council registry `agents/AGENT_REGISTRY.md`.

2. **Spawn Skills & Triggers**: Write skill specifications under `skills/<domain>/<skill-name>.md` and associate them with activation keywords in `skills/skill-rules.json`.

3. **Mount the MCP Server**: Expose the server using Node (`mcp-server.js`). This injects memory management tools (`sis_vault_search`, `sis_append_entry`) and SAGE orchestration tools directly into the agents' execution context.

4. **Execute Goal Checklists**: Spin up a goal session using `starlight goal init "<goal-description>"`. SAGE automatically generates a checklist, tracks state, takes git checkpoints, and triggers automated rollbacks if Sentinel audits fail.

## Metrics Truth Rule

Before writing public claims about Frank Riemer, FrankX.ai, Arcanea, Starlight Intelligence Systems, Agentic Creator OS, or related ecosystems:

1. Read `metrics/current.json` when available.

2. Never hardcode fast-moving numbers in prose unless the metric includes `last_verified`.

3. Use "as of [date]" for exact figures.

4. Use ranges or "minimum historic snapshot" when freshness is uncertain.

5. Distinguish ownership: **built / contributed to / influenced / supported / advised / experimented with**.

6. For enterprise/commercial impact, avoid claiming ownership of full deals unless explicitly verified.

7. Prefer phrasing that shows compounding velocity: "tracked snapshot," "living ledger," "minimum public count," "production velocity," "as of last verified update."

## Agent hygiene (Karpathy-distilled)

- State assumptions before running with them; ambiguity surfaces, not guesses

- Treat your own confidence as suspect — seek the inconsistency that would falsify your plan

- Push back when the request is wrong, under-specified, or contradicts repo invariants

- Ship the minimum code that satisfies the stated criterion — no speculative abstractions

- Make surgical edits: touch only what the task requires

- Never silently rewrite, delete, or "improve" code or comments you don't fully understand

- Verify versions, APIs, file contents, and library behavior from actual source — not memory

- Convert vague asks into verifiable success criteria before writing code

- Guard the context window like a budget — pull in only what the current step needs

- Prefer one careful pass with verification over many fast passes

- When tests, types, or runtime disagree with your mental model, the model is wrong — re-read, do not rationalize

- Hallucination is the default behavior of the substrate, not a bug to be scolded away
