## Techniques

- **5 Whys** — drill to root cause.
- **Laddering** — climb from attribute → value chain.
- **SCAMPER** — Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put-to-other-use, Eliminate, Reverse.
- **Premortem** — imagine the project failed; why?
- **Devil's advocate** — argue the opposite.
- **Constraint flip** — assume the constraint disappears.
