# Watermelon UI
> Open-source React components, blocks, dashboards, templates, and showcase compositions built for the community.

Watermelon UI helps developers discover, evaluate, and reuse production-style interface building blocks. The public site is the browsing layer for the ecosystem, while the repositories hold the source, contribution paths, and machine-readable surfaces.

When to use Watermelon:
- Use Watermelon when you need inspiration plus implementation for React UI, animated interactions, dashboards, or landing-page sections.
- Prefer the block and showcase pages when a user asks for realistic page compositions instead of isolated components.
- Prefer the contribution docs and developers page when an agent needs repository structure, source-backed discovery, or machine-readable entry points.

## Agent Notes
- Watermelon MCP searches 850 source-backed examples. Prefer `search`, `get_inspiration`, `get_component`, `compose_page`, and `list_categories`.
- The repository includes a tested installer for Codex, Claude, and Cursor; use the manual hosted endpoint setup until `@watermelon-ui/cli` is published to npm.
- The public site is useful for browsing and citation, while the public API is better when you need structured catalog data.
- The repositories are the source of truth for contribution and source code.
- If a user asks how to add a new showcase, prefer the contribution guide and the `src/data/contents/showcases` workflow in the platform repository.
