UniFi API integration guidelines and patterns.

# UniFi API Guidelines
## Authentication with API Keys
This project uses the **official UniFi Cloud API** with API key authentication.
**Authentication Method:**
- Use `UNIFI_API_KEY` environment variable for authentication
- API key is passed via the `X-API-Key` HTTP header
- No session management or cookies required (stateless authentication)
**NEVER hardcode API keys:**

## API Access Modes
Support both cloud and local gateway access modes:
**Cloud API (Default):**

## Read-Only Limitation
**IMPORTANT:** The Early Access API is currently **read-only**.

How to install
mdr add enuno/unifi-mcp-server/.cursor/rules/unifi-api.mdc@sha256:705d94512d58fbdcThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260213.4dbcdff, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
