# Firewall skills repository instructions ## Purpose and architecture This repository packages firewall parsing, conversion, diff, audit, compliance, and Juniper SRX operational skills. Each `skills/<name>/` subtree contains a `SKILL.md`, references, metadata, and optional data fixtures. The parsing skills share a normalized schema whose copies must remain byte-identical. ## Skills are Markdown, not programs Skills contain **Markdown knowledge only** — SKILL.md, references/*.md, agents/openai.yaml metadata, and non-executable fixtures such as .yaml/.set/.xml sample data. No scripts, executables, or code for the agent to run (.py, .sh, .js, .ts) and no template engines' source (e.g. Jinja .j2) inside a skill package. Skills are knowledge the agent reads; code needs a different review, supply-chain and runtime story; the agent can already run commands through its own tools and MCP servers. **The only executable shipped to users is the repository installer `install.sh`.** Development and CI tooling in top-level `scripts/` (validators, gen-checksums, codex-review.sh) is NOT covered — it is dev tooling, never installed. …
