# AGENTS.md <!-- Prompt v1.0 — 2026-09-21 --> `lintlang` is a static linter for AI agent configs, tool definitions, and system prompts. Instruction priority: preserve deterministic behavior and public output contracts first; satisfy the definition of done second; keep documentation and packaging aligned third. When these conflict, preserve behavior and output contracts. ## Workspace identity - The canonical upstream is `https://github.com/hermes-labs-ai/lintlang.git`. - Treat `git worktree list` as the authority for active linked worktrees. - Never assume the checked-out local branch matches public `origin/main`; verify the remote, branch, status, and intended base before editing. - Maintainers: `.hermes/WORKSPACE.md` in the git checkout records which local clone is canonical. It is not part of the published package and is not needed to work on the code. ## Use it for - linting tool descriptions before agents start choosing the wrong tools - checking prompts and configs for missing constraints, schema mismatches, and role confusion - running a zero-LLM CI gate over YAML, JSON, prompt text, and Python source files …

How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
