Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# `design/` **Responsibility under the Northstar** (root `AGENTS.md`). Historical records of design decisions: why a structure around the protocols was chosen and which alternatives were set aside. They explain how the current shape came about; they do not govern it. **Boundary.** Use these records to understand earlier design choices; take the current contract from the protocol's `SKILL.md`, even where a record here describes an earlier shape. New rationale goes in the commit message that lands the change (root `AGENTS.md` §Settled Directions, Ledger binding) rather than in a new file here. **Next.** `README.md` here for what each record covers; for the contract as it stands, the protocol's `SKILL.md`.

How to install
mdr add jongwony/epistemic-protocols/design/AGENTS.md@sha256:c443a35ab4ab05dcThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260927.c7b710c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
