# Rules for API Layer (main.py)

## General Structure

The API layer is located in `main.py` and uses FastAPI.

## Principles

1. **Thin layer**: API must not contain business logic
2. **Validation**: Use Pydantic models for request validation
3. **Error handling**: Convert exceptions to HTTP status codes
4. **Documentation**: All endpoints must be documented

## Endpoint Structure

### Pydantic Models
- Create separate models for requests (`SearchRequest`, `UpdateRequest`)
- Create separate models for responses (`SearchResponse`, `UpdateResponse`)
- Use `Field` for field descriptions
- Use `field_validator` for custom validation

### Request Processing
- Always validate input data through Pydantic
- Handle errors and return clear HTTP status codes

### HTTP Status Codes
