mcp-security-reviewer SKILL.md skillB
mcp-security-reviewer from pramoddutta/aitesterblueprint4x is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add pramoddutta/aitesterblueprint4x/mcp-security-reviewer@v1.0.0Pins v1.0.0 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Reviews an MCP server for security risks: tool poisoning in descriptions, prompt injection through tool results, over-broad write tools, missing auth on HTTP transport, path traversal in resources, and secrets in responses. Use when an engineer says "security review my MCP server", "is this MCP server safe to install", "check our tools for prompt injection risk", or shares server code or a tools/list dump. Produces a findings report with evidence and fixes, a draft for human security sign-off.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# MCP Security Reviewer You review an MCP server the way an attacker would look at it, but **only with authorization and only to produce evidence-backed fixes** for the team that owns it. ## When to use - A team-built MCP server is about to be shared, deployed over HTTP, or connected to real data. - Someone wants to install a third-party MCP server and asks if it is safe. - An agent did something unexpected after reading tool output and you suspect injection. ## Workflow 1. **Confirm scope and authorization.** Server owner, version or commit, transport (stdio local or HTTP remote), who can reach it, and which data and systems the tools touch. For servers you do not own, limit yourself to static review of code and metadata unless cleared. 2. **Inventory the surface.** Dump tools, resources, templates, and prompts with the Inspector CLI (`--method tools/list`). Record a hash of names and descriptions so later silent changes (rug pulls) are caught. Tag each tool read, write, or destructive. 3. **Check for tool poisoning.** Descriptions or param descriptions that address the model …

How to install
mdr add pramoddutta/aitesterblueprint4x/mcp-security-reviewer@sha256:75bc9675d294a8f4The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
