Install Git and the GitHub CLI (gh) on macOS, Linux or Windows, sign the user in to GitHub through the browser and set up their Git name and email, so the agent can create repos and push. Use when git or gh is missing, the user wants to connect GitHub, or gh auth status fails.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
Make Git and GitHub work on the user's machine so the agent can create private repos and push code. Do every step yourself and only ask for what needs a human (a click in an install window, signing in, a one-time code). Talk to the user in their language, short messages, no jargon (never say "CLI", "PATH" or "token" to them). Never ask for their GitHub password or a token. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
