prune-tests SKILL.md skillA
prune-tests from leek/agent-skills is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add leek/agent-skills/prune-tests@git:20261012.cdf7bf9Pins git:20261012.cdf7bf9 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Delete low-signal tests (tests that restate the code, always pass, or break on every refactor) one test area at a time, keeping coverage, and open one PR per area. Every run takes an area no earlier run touched.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Prune Tests Each **cycle** takes one test **area** (a test directory, or the tests for one module), deletes every test in it that would not catch a real bug a stronger test misses, proves coverage held, and opens one PR. One cycle, one area, one PR. The goal is a smaller suite that protects behavior, not a large suite that protects coverage numbers. A test stays only when it passes the value gate in `tdd`'s [testing best practices](../tdd/references/testing-best-practices.md). That file is the one source for what a good test is. Read it before the first cycle. Invoking this skill gives the same authority as `sweep`, per cycle: a branch and worktree, commits, pushing that branch, and opening and labeling its PR. It does not authorize merging or pushing to the default branch. ## Every run finds new ground Runs repeat on the same repo, and earlier PRs stay open for days. Treat earlier work as `sweep` does: an open, merged, or declined `prune-tests/*` PR rules out its files. It never ends the run. Move on to the next area. …

How to install
mdr add leek/agent-skills/prune-tests@sha256:38828c65ec72e685The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261012.cdf7bf9, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
