Make any repository AI-first — reason (never template) an adapted AGENTS.md, docs/, per-module docs and .agents/ kit from the real repo, discover and verify its full and scoped validation commands and source-to-test mapping, install the DeepWorkPlan skill, and, for a repository onboarded under an earlier version, perform a targeted, non-destructive, idempotent harness upgrade. Use when the developer wants to onboard or upgrade a repository for AI agents.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# DeepWorkPlan — Onboard Turn the **target repository** into an **AI-first autopilot repo**: a codebase whose `AGENTS.md`, `docs/`, per-module docs, `.agents/`, `.claude → .agents` and `.cursor → .agents` symlinks, and gitignored `.dwp/` give *any* AI agent (Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, Gemini, Copilot, Cline, Windsurf, OpenClaw) enough structured context to work reliably without per-session human hand-holding. > ## The one rule that overrides everything: REASON, do not copy-paste > > This flow is **not** a template copier and **not** a scaffolder. Its entire > value is that you **inspect the actual target repo** — its real languages, > frameworks, package manager, build/test/lint commands, folder layout, test > convention, deployment shape — and then **generate artifacts adapted to that > repo**. The *shape* of the output is fixed (`AGENTS.md`, the `docs/` > categories, per-module docs, `.agents/`, the symlinks, `.dwp/`); the *content* > is reasoned per repo (validation commands, paths, stack-specific skills, > example plans). Most of a generated artifact is the fixed shape and the > remainder is reasoned — a direction, not a ratio to quote > (`../shared/adaptation.md`). …

How to install
mdr add dailybothq/deepworkplan-skill/deepworkplan-onboard@sha256:f324a67f7b8ff1afThe line at the top of this page pins the label v7.8.1, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
