# Sunset rescue Most people never compare tools. They pick one and stop looking. The main exception is when their current tool forces them to move: it shuts down, drops the free plan they rely on, doubles its price, or changes its license. For a few weeks those users have a deadline, an export file and a reason to read an alternative's page carefully. This skill finds those moments and works out whether this product can be an honest, easy place to land. The work runs as a line of stations. Each station has a gate, and an item that fails a gate leaves the line with a recorded reason. Guessing at an event or a fit costs more than reporting that nothing qualified, and most weeks nothing will. ## Station 0: Read what Tin already knows - The newest valid evidence block under reports/sunset-rescue/: the watch list with each item's reconsider date, the kits already delivered, and the searches that found nothing. - The newest reports under reports/competitor-watch/: any material change such as a removed free plan, a price increase or an end-of-life notice is a candidate event. - known_event, when supplied. How to install
mdr add tin-computer/tin/sunset-rescue@sha256:5ac9007dbe3db67cThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261015.3b3c68b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
