Show and manage ARIA intake backlogs: insights, decisions, extraction items, rules, ideas, clippings, and snapshots. Trigger on /backlog or what is pending.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# /backlog — Backlog Viewer & Manager
View pending items across all four backlogs, or manage entries.
## Step 0: Resolve Config
Read `~/.claude/aria-knowledge.local.md` and extract `knowledge_folder`. If the file doesn't exist, stop: "aria-knowledge is not configured. Run /setup to get started."
Set backlog paths:
- `{knowledge_folder}/intake/insights-backlog.md`
- `{knowledge_folder}/intake/decisions-backlog.md`
- `{knowledge_folder}/intake/extraction-backlog.md`
- `{knowledge_folder}/intake/rules-backlog.md`
## Step 1: Parse Argument
- **No argument:** go to Step 2 (overview)
- **`insights`**, **`decisions`**, **`extraction`**, or **`rules`:** go to Step 3 (detail view)
- **`clear [type] [date]`:** go to Step 4 (clear entries)
## Step 2: Overview Mode
Read all four backlog files. For each, take its `live` count from `bash "${PLUGIN_ROOT:-${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}}/bin/count-backlog-entries.sh" {knowledge_folder}` (fallback: count `### YYYY-MM-DD` entries after the `---` separator, noting it may under-report) and find the most recent date. **If any backlog file is missing**, show "missing — run /setup to repair" instead of a count for that file.

How to install
mdr add mikeprasad/aria-knowledge/backlog@sha256:aefa9e1ba25cc8e7The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261022.3855e1f, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
