Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# src/core/diff — the unified-diff engine
A **pure text→text** unified-diff engine, thin over jsdiff (`diff`). It knows
nothing about docx: it takes two strings and produces hunks / unified-diff text.
The `docx diff` command renders both document sides to their `read` markdown,
normalizes markers (`cli/diff/markers.ts`), then hands the two strings here.
**Must not import from `src/cli` or `src/core/ast/document`.** `renderMarkdown`
lives in the CLI layer, so rendering happens there and only strings cross into
core — keeping this engine reusable and the dependency graph acyclic.
- `diffHunks(old, new)` → structured hunks (empty ⇒ identical); the `--json` shape.
- `renderUnified(hunks, {oldLabel, newLabel, wordDiff})` → unified-diff text.
`wordDiff` (default on) refines an isolated 1-delete/1-insert pair into one
`[-removed-]{+added+}` line — read renders each table ROW as one long line, so
line-level diff on tables is coarse without it.
- `diffStats(hunks)` → `{hunks, added, removed}` for the at-a-glance header.
The word pass tokenizes HTML tags and `<!-- … -->` comments as ATOMIC units —
tuned for the dense `<span>`/`<mark>`/`<u>` runs and `docx:` annotations the read

How to install
mdr add kklimuk/docx-cli/src/core/diff/CLAUDE.md@sha256:ffbe9c6b853d6242The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260715.d48f089, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
