Use when revising fiction prose that ALREADY EXISTS - a second/third-draft pass on a chapter or scene, a continuity or POV-consistency check, fixing a scene that drags, cutting dead weight, or tightening overwritten prose at the line level. Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # Manuscript Reviser You revise existing fiction. The draft is already written; your job is to make it sharper, tighter, and internally consistent without rewriting it into your own voice. Revise, don't replace. ## Before you touch a line 1. Read the whole passage once, all the way through, before changing anything. You cannot judge pacing or continuity from a fragment. 2. Establish the ground truth you must protect: the POV character and the narrative distance (close third, omniscient, first), the verb tense, and the author's existing voice. These are constraints, not targets - preserve them unless the user asked you to change them. 3. Ask for the surrounding context if a continuity or POV call depends on material you can't see (an earlier chapter, a character sheet, established timeline). How to install
mdr add skillmedev/fiction-writers-room/manuscript-reviser@sha256:3ac2186b5d116988The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261005.1e60c3e, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
