Detect pages that serve the same search intent as another page, even when their wording is different — the pattern Google's scaled-content-abuse policy targets, and the one most programmatic/templated sites are exposed to without realizing it. Use when auditing any site with more than a handful of templated/generated pages, when a user asks "do I have duplicate content risk," or after a Google core/spam update.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Duplicate-Intent Audit Checking for duplicate *text* is the wrong check. Google's scaled-content-abuse policy targets duplicate *intent* — two pages answering the same query, even when a text-diff would call them "different." A templated site can pass every plagiarism checker and still carry real penalty risk. --- ## Step 0 — Ask before assuming 1. How is content produced — hand-written, templated from a dataset, AI-drafted, a mix? Templated/programmatic sites are highest-risk for this specific problem. 2. Has the same *kind* of page ever been built under two different naming schemes at different times (a redesign, a new batch using a different template)? This is the most common root cause. 3. How many pages exist, and is a full URL/title list or sitemap available? This needs to look across the whole set — duplicate-intent pairs are invisible one page at a time. 4. Is Search Console (or equivalent) access available? Real click/impression/position data is the best signal for confirming a suspected pair is actually splitting authority. 5. Has anything already been merged/redirected? Avoid re-flagging resolved pairs. …

How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
