Generate Product Requirements Documents through structured conversation for any project. Use when starting a new feature, documenting requirements, creating specs before implementation, or needing clarity on scope and success criteria.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Generate PRD Skill **Degree of freedom: MIXED.** Clarifying questions, scope, and requirements `[HIGH freedom]`; stack/feature/schema detection `[LOW freedom — run exactly]`. Create detailed, actionable Product Requirements Documents through structured conversation, informed by codebase analysis and competitive research. ## How to reason 1. **Discover** — stack, features, schema, existing PRDs 2. **Clarify** — only what is unclear, numbered with lettered options 3. **Scope** — P0/P1/P2 plus explicit non-goals 4. **Specify** — testable requirements, not implementation ## Worked example > **Discover:** Next.js + Supabase; `notifications` table missing; no `prd-*.md`. > **Clarify:** in-app vs email vs push? (user: 1A in-app only). MVP vs polish? (2A MVP). > **Scope:** P0 in-app bell + read state; non-goal: email/push (`design-email` / `mobile-capacitor-platform`). > **Specify:** FR-1 "unread count on the header within 2s of insert" — not "feel realtime". ## Self-critique before reporting - **Context recorded** — stack, features, schema, and existing PRDs were listed first - **Questions minimal** — only what was unclear, lettered; coding did not start first …

How to install
mdr add kensaurus/cursor-kenji/design-prd@sha256:bfa3eb5920faa33dThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261006.39320f8, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
