Index the brand photo library with AI vision so assets are searchable and matchable. "catalogue our brand photos".

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# /socialforge:index-assets — Asset Indexer

> **Script location.** If your host does not set `${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}`, the scripts are in this plugin's `scripts/` folder, next to `skills/`. Run them with Python 3.10 or newer: `python`, or `python3` where `python` is not found (macOS, many Linux systems).

Scan a brand's photo library and create an AI-powered asset index. Each image is analyzed by a vision model (registry alias `latest-vision-google`) to understand what's in it, what mood it conveys, what posts it's suitable for, and how it can be cropped for different platforms.

## Context efficiency

Asset-heavy skill. **Grep before Read** the asset catalog (`${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_DATA}/socialforge/brands/<brand>/asset-index.json`) — never list the asset directory. Reference generated images / videos by path, not by loading metadata. Brand profile loads once per session.

## How It Works

1. **Locate assets** — Read asset-source.json for the brand's photo library location
2. **Scan files** — Find all .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp files in the source
3. **AI analysis** — For each image, use the vision model (the registry alias `latest-vision-google`) to generate:

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261011.1a0c374, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
