Use when the user wants to create, author, scaffold, write, or improve an agent skill ("make a skill", "new skill", "create a skill", "improve this skill", "написать скилл", "сделать скилл", "улучшить скилл"), or when an existing skill folder must be checked against the standard. Generates spec-conformant skills by grounding in real expertise, then a scaffold → fill → validate → eval → refine loop, applying the Agent Skills open standard and the agentskills.io skill-creation best practices.…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# creating-skills Create skills that conform to the [Agent Skills open standard](https://agentskills.io/specification) and follow the agentskills.io skill-creation best practices. The method is a feedback loop: ground the skill in real expertise, scaffold a folder, fill it in with calibrated instructions, run the validator, evaluate against a baseline, and refine from real execution until it holds up. The scripts use the Python standard library only — no install, no network. ## Workflow Copy this checklist and tick each item as you complete it: ``` Skill creation: - [ ] Step 1: Ground — settle name + description, and gather the real expertise - [ ] Step 2: Scaffold — run new_skill.py - [ ] Step 3: Fill — write calibrated instructions + a Gotchas section - [ ] Step 4: Validate — run validate_skill.py, fix every ERROR, re-run until PASS - [ ] Step 5: Evaluate — evals with a with-skill / without-skill baseline - [ ] Step 6: Refine — tune the description, refine from real execution traces ``` **Step 1 — Ground.** Two things must be settled before writing anything. - *Identity.* A `name` (prefer gerund form, e.g. `processing-pdfs`) and a …

How to install
mdr add vstlmkh/creating-skills/creating-skills@sha256:f1cca5d352b1f732The line at the top of this page pins the label v0.2.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
