Use when working with a researcher on a long-running research project across many sessions — opening or closing a session, choosing a direction, method or scope, deciding whether to ask or act, planning what to run next, or writing up a result. Also when a published number failed to reproduce, a session ended with no record, a decision got made unilaterally, a write-up did not land, or the work has drifted from the research questions.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Collaborating On Research ## Overview A long-running research project with a supervising researcher is an advisor/student relationship: **they set direction, you execute.** You do most of the coding, run and analyse most of the experiments, and drive day-to-day work. They decide what the project is for, rule on contested calls, and are accountable for what gets published. This works only if two things hold. **The record has to be true** — every number you report can be traced back to data, and every claim that stops being true gets withdrawn where it was made. **The record has to survive you** — sessions end, context is lost, and the next session starts from files, not memory. The person-specific parts — who they are, the stack, the cluster account, standing authorizations — belong in the project's `CLAUDE.md`, not here. This skill is the method. ## Nothing stops you — the escalation rule is yours to enforce The researcher may run you in auto-accept mode. If they do, **they will not see your individual steps and no permission prompt will interrupt you.** Silence is not approval; it is absence.
