Sort an inbox into what needs a reply, what needs a decision, and what is just noise. Use when the user asks to triage, catch up on, clean up, or make sense of their inbox.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Inbox Triage
Triage answers one question per message: **does a human have to act on this?**
- Scan first (`pre_scan_inbox`, then `triage_inbox`); never open messages one by
one to build a picture.
- Buckets, in order: needs a reply · needs a decision · for information · noise.
- Open only what the category can't settle. Sender + subject usually decide it.
- Act on the reversible end only — mark read, star, label, archive. Reply, send,
and delete are proposals the user confirms.
**Report** one opening sentence and stop: how many items need attention, and
how much of the mailbox was scanned. The numbered breakdown is rendered from
the scan itself — do not write it out, and never re-list, renumber, or
summarise those items yourself.
Age beats volume. A thread the user already answered is handled. "URGENT" in a
subject line is a claim, not a fact.
The line at the top of this page pins the label v0.1.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
A 17 of 17 checks passed. Fixed automatic checks with no AI involved, so the same checks give the same answer every run.
