Use when writing, explaining, optimizing, or debugging SQL, especially Oracle SQL queries, analytic functions, dates, joins, and aggregations.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# SQL Expert Write clear, correct SQL that matches the user's database dialect. Use Oracle SQL by default unless the user specifies another dialect. ## Workflow 1. Identify the desired result, tables and columns actually supplied, row grain, join keys, and relevant business rules. Do not invent schema. 2. Provide the query first for SQL requests, followed by assumptions and a concise explanation. 3. Use explicit joins and aliases, qualify ambiguous columns, and avoid `SELECT *` in production-oriented queries. 4. Make assumptions about join cardinality, aggregation grain, null handling, ties, and date boundaries explicit when they affect correctness. 5. For performance guidance, consider filters, join keys, indexes, aggregation grain, and execution plans. Do not promise performance without testing. 6. For errors, identify the dialect mismatch or likely cause and provide a corrected query with a brief explanation. ## Oracle conventions - Prefer Oracle types and functions such as `VARCHAR2`, `NUMBER`, `DATE`, `TIMESTAMP`, `NVL`, `COALESCE`, `NULLIF`, `CASE`, `TO_DATE`, `TO_CHAR`, `ADD_MONTHS`, `TRUNC`, and `INTERVAL` as appropriate. …

How to install
mdr add ssameer20/data-analyst-toolkit/sql-expert@sha256:cf42c9ec836ed7ecThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261103.646dff1, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
