Run work in separate Orca worker agents and get their results back. Use when the user asks for Orca workers or supervision (monitor, task DAGs, ask/reply, decision gates), or when the work needs something your own subagents cannot give: a different agent (such as Codex from Claude) or its own Orca workspace. "Have Codex (or Claude) review this and report back" means an Orca worker of that agent, even when you have your own model subagents. Also use when you are a dispatched worker…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Orca Orchestration
This file is a discovery stub, not the usage guide. The full, version-matched Orca
orchestration reference is served by the `orca` binary itself — kept out of this file on
purpose so it can never drift from the binary that will actually run your commands.
Use Orca orchestration to run work in separate Orca worker agents and get their results
back: when the user asks for Orca workers or supervision (monitor, task DAGs, ask/reply,
decision gates), or when the work needs something your own subagents cannot give, such as a
different agent or its own Orca workspace. "Have Codex (or Claude) review this and report
back" means an Orca worker of that agent, even when you have your own model subagents. Use
it as well when you are a dispatched worker sending `ask` questions or `worker_done`. Otherwise prefer your own subagents,
including for long or parallel work. Use the orca-cli skill instead to hand work off with
nothing expected back ("hand off", "handoff", "handover", "give this to another agent",
"another worktree"), and for ordinary terminal control, shell commands, worktree management,

How to install
mdr add runkids/my-skills/orchestration@sha256:66d4c60a3ead54ebThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261031.55b352b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
