Investigate and repair an agent's context — memory, system prompt, and skills — using observed behavior as evidence. Use when the user asks to audit, clean up, or fix your memory or context, or runs /doctor. Do not load for routine memory reads or edits, or requests that merely mention memory.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Context Doctor Investigate what went wrong, or audit memory health before a behavioral failure is reported. Use observed behavior and memory artifacts as evidence for repairs. A healthy agent or an inconclusive investigation can legitimately need no edits. ## Scope and workflow You are the primary investigator. Run the investigation in this conversation; do not delegate the entire doctor run to a background subagent. The user may leave it running while working in other conversations and return for the answer. When invoked by `/doctor`, the launch message describes the **current** agent, investigation conversation, host-local transcript root, and memory directory. The target agent defaults to the current agent unless the user identifies another. The investigation conversation is not automatically the target incident; the user may have started it just to run doctor. Use explicit target IDs in evidence commands. How to install
mdr add letta-ai/letta-code/Context Doctor@sha256:b35198df3aae538fThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260930.f8aa902, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
