Read and write the Multi-Agent Protocol coordination branch - check the inbox, send templated messages (handover, release-request, released, returned, review, heads-up, question, answer), claim or release tasks, publish status, and run the doctor. Use at session start, before taking a task, when another agent needs to be told something, or when the user asks what other agents have said.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Coordination
The coordination branch and its message types are defined in `${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/PROTOCOL.md`, section 5. All operations go through the scripts below. They act on the git repository of the current directory, never touch your working tree, and push to the remote `origin` (set `MAP_REMOTE` to change it). If the project vendors the scripts (its agent rules file says where), use that copy instead.
Scripts (`S=${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts`):

How to install
mdr add gao-xh/multi-agent-protocol/coordinate@sha256:adfab17d7ff57c17The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261030.5283ebe, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
