Discover Civitai models with the BUILT-IN download_model action:"search_civitai" and install/generate them locally. Find a checkpoint/LoRA/embedding on Civitai, download it into ComfyUI, and use its trigger words. Optionally pair the official Civitai MCP for community features (images browsing, posting, collections).
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Civitai + comfyui-mcp
comfyui-mcp has native Civitai search built in (`download_model` `action:"search_civitai"`)
plus the local half of the loop: download, wire, queue, tag. The full flow
(find, install, generate) needs no other server and no API key, and works on
every backend, including small local models behind the compact router.

- ALWAYS filter `base_models` when the user's checkpoint family is known.
A Flux LoRA will not load on an SDXL checkpoint (see `model-compatibility`).
CivitAI labels: `Flux.1 D`, `SDXL 1.0`, `SD 1.5`, `Pony`, `Illustrious`,
`Wan Video`.
- `target_subfolder` must match the model type: `checkpoints`, `loras`, `vae`,
`controlnet`, `embeddings`, `upscale_models`, and so on.

How to install
mdr add artokun/comfyui-mcp/civitai@sha256:75d1b62cbd442adbThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260825.cab59a6, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
