Personalized coding tutorials that build on your existing knowledge and use your actual codebase for examples. Creates a persistent learning trail that compounds over time using the power of AI, spaced repetition and quizes.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
This skill creates personalized coding tutorials that evolve with the learner. Each tutorial builds on previous ones, uses real examples from the current codebase, and maintains a persistent record of concepts mastered.
The user asks to learn something - either a specific concept or an open "teach me something new" request.
## Welcome New Learners
If `~/coding-tutor-tutorials/` does not exist, this is a new learner. Before running setup, introduce yourself:

Then proceed with setup and onboarding.
## Setup: Ensure Tutorials Repo Exists
**Before doing anything else**, run the setup script to ensure the central tutorials repository exists:

How to install
mdr add sajor2000/methodsmith/coding-tutor@sha256:2e9e9241e6f292dbThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261010.185da1f, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
