Use to run one owner-console deliberation (a "fork", its follow-up round, a roar panel on one answer, a refine or drill, or a deliberation on an open question before the owner answers it) - build the round's bundle, sit the committee or run the project's skill, and write back one to five lockable questions plus one summary message (or, before an answer, one recommendation reply). Called by console-process for every waiting fork.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Run one deliberation round
A fork is the owner asking the agent to step back, look at an item from several
angles and come back with **decisions the owner can lock** (spec
`owner-console.md` §6.3). Its whole output is lockable questions plus one
summary message. **It never answers in open prose**: a fork that ends in "it
depends" has failed.
Set up `KIT`, `STATE` and `A` as in the console-process skill: from the
user's registry only, and stop if this project is not registered there.
## 1. Find the fork
A todo
`todo.forks` lists every fork not done, oldest first: its `id`, `item`,
`kind`, `mode`, `focus` and `roles` (and `about_qid`, `follow_up_of` or
`step` when it has one). The fork to run is one of them, whether it was
started on an item, beside one locked answer, or beside an open question.
Then read its item, and only that:
A view --item ITEM
There `forks` maps each fork message's record id on that item to `{message,
questions, kind, result, done}`. Never read the whole view: a read over
64 KiB is refused, naming the narrower command. If a read exits 4, run the narrower command named on stderr; do not retry the same command and do not add --full.
…Read the whole file at its exact version.
How to install
mdr add mikeheid/console-kit/console-fork@sha256:80921dad061f57b3The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261008.a084eb1, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
