Reports where Claude Code usage went over a period, with the model calls of each run, the context that each call reads again, and the skills that the period did not use. Use when asked why usage or limits drained, or which skills to remove.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
<task> Show the user where usage went, from the transcripts on this machine. A run that makes many model calls reads its context again at each call, and that is a cost the user can measure. The figures are measurements. Do not state the cause of a usage limit, because no source gives one. </task> <procedure> The bin `claudetto-usage` reads the transcripts under `~/.claude/projects/` and changes no file. 1. Run the report for the period the user names (default 7 days): ```bash claudetto-usage --days 7 ``` Run `claudetto-usage --help` for the options. 2. Read the output. Each part has a label. `Skills that the period did not use` names the source of its list. </procedure> <report> Copy each figure from the output. Do not compute, round, or convert a figure, because a figure that you change can be wrong. Name the runs with the most calls and the largest sums first, because they hold most of the usage. For unused skills, name the source that gave the list. Let the user decide what to remove, and change no skill. </report>

How to install
mdr add xsyetopz/dotclaude/usage@sha256:78cfe5c2ddb503b4The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261016.3621f4b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
