Interview the decider relentlessly to turn a half-formed plan, design, or idea into shared understanding: a design tree worked in rounds until nothing is silently assumed. Use when asked to grill, stress-test, or pressure-test thinking, and before charting a decision map or writing a spec off a conversation nobody has pressure-tested.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Grilling A grilling session converts a half-formed idea into **shared understanding** by interviewing the decider until nothing load-bearing is still assumed. It is the pack's live, single-session instrument: no tickets, no map doc, no branch: the deliverable is agreement, reached out loud and then written down (see the closing record below). Map the work as a **design tree**: every decision branches into the decisions that hang off it. You do not know the tree in advance; each answer grows it. ## Rounds and the frontier The **frontier** is every decision whose prerequisites are already settled: the questions askable *now* without guessing at answers you have not heard. Ask the whole frontier in one round, then wait. How to install
mdr add timharris707/skills/grilling@sha256:ba488e41e791865fThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261008.0b04f1c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
