Pin-to-net mapping auditor -- verifies that every IC pin in the schematic is connected to the correct net, matched against a pin map source of truth (CSV, datasheet table, or Python dict). Critical for BGA/QFN devices where swap errors are invisible to DRC/ERC.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

## Why This Matters
ERC and DRC cannot catch a swapped pin. A power pin on a signal net passes all
automated checks but produces a dead or damaged board. The only defense is
comparing the schematic pin-to-net assignment against the datasheet pinout table.

## Audit Workflow
1. Analyze the schematic with the `kicad` skill and retain the per-component
pin/net data as `analysis.json`.
2. Compare that data with the checked-in pin-map source. If the project contains
a documented audit script, run it; do not assume `scripts/audit_pinmap.py`
exists.
3. Investigate every mismatch; it can be an intentional net alias or a defect.
4. Decide connected/no-connect status for every unmapped pin and update the
source of truth.
5. Regenerate the schematic and repeat the audit.

How to install
mdr add mattpainter701/kicad_automations/kicad-pinmap@sha256:77e7112343352e74The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260710.9da1c93, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
