Build, install and drive a mobile release build on one attached device over adb, screenshot what changed, and read the screenshots back. Use when a change claims to work on a device and nobody has watched it do so, or when the pipeline's runtime-check phase runs on a mobile project.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# pipeline:device-verify

Verifies by looking, not by compiling. The build succeeding is not the
claim; the screen showing the feature is.

## Preconditions — check, and stop loudly on failure

1. `adb` on PATH: try `command -v adb`, then `command -v adb.exe`, and
   say which name was found. Bash on Windows can miss a Windows install
   under the bare name. Use the name found in every command below.
   Neither: report the missing tool and stop — the caller decides what a
   skipped verification means.
2. One device: `adb devices` lists the devices in state `device`. With
   `ANDROID_SERIAL` set, use that device, and when more than one is
   attached pass `-s <serial>` to every adb command; a serial not in the
   list: say so and stop. Unset, exactly one must be listed. Zero: say so
   and stop. More than one: say so and stop — guessing which device the
   human means is how a wrong phone gets a debug build.
3. A mobile project at the working directory (the pipeline's detector
   calls this `mobile-android`). If the project's own build tooling is
   not obvious from its manifest, ask rather than guessing a build
   command.

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261013.a0a954f, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
