gptq SKILL.md skillA
This file is byte-identical to the first copy the registry indexed, one of 3 indexed copies. Same content hash, so the same checks give both the same grade.
gptq from yichen-zju/claude-for-research is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add yichen-zju/claude-for-research/gptq@v1.0.0Pins v1.0.0 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Post-training 4-bit quantization for LLMs with minimal accuracy loss. Use for deploying large models (70B, 405B) on consumer GPUs, when you need 4× memory reduction with <2% perplexity degradation, or for faster inference (3-4× speedup) vs FP16. Integrates with transformers and PEFT for QLoRA fine-tuning.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# GPTQ (Generative Pre-trained Transformer Quantization) Post-training quantization method that compresses LLMs to 4-bit with minimal accuracy loss using group-wise quantization. ## When to use GPTQ **Use GPTQ when:** - Need to fit large models (70B+) on limited GPU memory - Want 4× memory reduction with <2% accuracy loss - Deploying on consumer GPUs (RTX 4090, 3090) - Need faster inference (3-4× speedup vs FP16) **Use AWQ instead when:** - Need slightly better accuracy (<1% loss) - Have newer GPUs (Ampere, Ada) - Want Marlin kernel support (2× faster on some GPUs) **Use bitsandbytes instead when:** - Need simple integration with transformers - Want 8-bit quantization (less compression, better quality) - Don't need pre-quantized model files ## Quick start ### Installation ```bash # Install AutoGPTQ pip install auto-gptq # With Triton (Linux only, faster) pip install auto-gptq[triton] # With CUDA extensions (faster) pip install auto-gptq --no-build-isolation # Full installation pip install auto-gptq transformers accelerate ``` ### Load pre-quantized model ```python from transformers import AutoTokenizer from auto_gptq import AutoGPTQForCausalLM …

How to install
mdr add yichen-zju/claude-for-research/gptq@sha256:ce19de416afa03a0The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
