Manage local skills backed by known remote Git repositories. Use when the user wants to import, inspect, diff, pull, resolve, push, reset, or remove them, or project current local skills to enabled clients with `al sync`. Do not use to discover new skills or create user-owned skills.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Skill Sync

Use this skill to import known skills from Git and manage them over time. Users
can edit imported skills locally, pull upstream updates without overwriting
those edits, pin imports to a chosen version, reset them to upstream, or publish
changes back.

Use live `al skills --help` and subcommand help as the source of truth. If `al`
is unavailable or the project is not initialized, stop and report the error.
Do not replace an `al skills` operation with manual file edits.

There is no `al skills sync` command. Use `al skills pull` to update skills from
Git. Use `al sync` only to copy the current local skills into enabled client
directories.

1. Start with `al skills status --all`. It reads local state without using the
   network. A `conflicted` skill includes its Git workspace path.
2. To compare live trees, run `al skills diff <name>` with `--from`/`--to`
   `base`, `local`, `upstream`, or `destination`. Defaults are local to
   upstream. The output is an ordinary Git unified diff.
3. To import skills, run `al skills add <repository> <selector>... --yes` only

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260821.13159e8, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
