Drive ffmpeg through the media_run tool as an argv array - remux instead of re-encode, map streams explicitly, trim at keyframes, scale and crop, extract audio and frames, and build GIFs, contact sheets and concatenations. Covers the flags this pack injects, reading a failure from its exit code and last log lines, and the version-dependent spellings to hedge.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Running ffmpeg `media_run` runs one real ffmpeg (or ffprobe) command as an **argv array**. There is no shell, so nothing is interpolated, expanded, split or quoted: a path with a space, a filter graph and a `%` in a filename all arrive exactly as written. Write `["-i","clip.mkv","-c","copy","out.mp4"]`, never `"ffmpeg -i clip.mkv …"`; the program comes from `.binary` and is NOT the first element. The tool injects `-n` (never overwrite), `-nostdin`, `-hide_banner` and `-loglevel warning` (unless you pass a level) at the FRONT of the argv. `overwrite: true` swaps `-n` for `-y` and is the only way to replace a file; writing `-y` or `-n` in `args` yourself is refused, because the overwrite decision belongs to the parameter and not to the argument list. `binary: "ffprobe"` gets none of those ffmpeg-only flags. A call runs in the conversation workspace unless `cwd` says otherwise, is killed after `timeoutMs` (default 120 s, max 600 s), and its output is capped (head and tail kept, the dropped count named). How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
