Produce a decision-ready research-brief brief from bounded governed evidence and preserve every material source binding.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Research Brief Turn one important question into a durable operator brief: what the answer is, what evidence supports it, what remains uncertain, and what posture the reader should take next. Use this when a quick answer is too shallow but an open-ended report would obscure the decision. The output should feel like a thoughtful memo, not a narration of the research process. It leads with the decision and operational implication, then exposes the evidence, inference, alternatives, and unresolved questions that justify that posture. ## Composes <!-- Generated from the native execution closure; run pnpm core-skills:composes:generate. --> - `ghostwrite#draft` - `research#local-files` - `research#research` ## When to use it Use `research-brief` for architecture choices, market or ecosystem questions, product bets, trust decisions, or other consequential analysis that needs a reader-ready synthesis. Use plain `research` when the evidence packet itself is the desired artifact. Use `content-package` when the primary outcome is public content for a known channel. Do not use this skill for an unbounded literature review, a daily trend recap, …

How to install
mdr add runxhq/runx/research-brief@sha256:c6f54ebfe9de109dThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261017.16ba3f9, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
