Manage Jira issue comments with jirac, including listing existing comments and adding a new Markdown comment to an issue.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

What the file says

Manage Jira comments using `jirac`.

Steps:
1. Check that `jirac` is available by running `jirac --version`. If it is missing, tell the user to install it with `cargo install jira-commands`.
2. Determine whether the user wants to list comments or add a comment.

For listing comments:
- extract the issue key
- run `jirac issue comment <ISSUE-KEY> list`

For adding a comment:
- extract the issue key
- extract the comment body
- run `jirac issue comment <ISSUE-KEY> add --body '<COMMENT>'`
- if the comment is long or already in a file, use `--file <FILE>` instead

3. Show the result clearly.

Examples:
- "show comments on PROJ-123" → `jirac issue comment PROJ-123 list`
- "add a comment to PROJ-123 saying QA verified this" → `jirac issue comment PROJ-123 add --body 'QA verified this'`
- "comment on PROJ-456 with the contents of note.md" → `jirac issue comment PROJ-456 add --file note.md`

Read the whole file at its exact version.

How to install

The exact contents, by fingerprint
mdr add mulhamna/jira-commands/comment@sha256:9b6775affdb1b259

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261029.f79e226, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
